Interventional Radiology Services
Offering advanced, minimally invasive care
We offer you advanced, minimally invasive tests and treatments as alternatives to traditional surgery. Often this involves using imaging technology to help guide a catheter into the body and treat a condition at its source.
Plus, we provide treatment and care for a variety of conditions, including cancer, osteoporosis, vascular disease, varicose veins, uterine fibroids and much more. And because these procedures are minimally invasive, they often result in less pain, quicker treatment and faster recovery times.

Consultative Approach
Our team takes a highly collaborative approach to your treatment. We work with your primary care and/or referring physician to determine the best course of treatment and provide the highest quality care. Then, we keep your doctor informed of your progress from start to finish.
Plus, we're available 24/7 and perform all of our procedures right inside Saint Joseph Hospital. We offer inpatient and outpatient consultation, no-hassle admitting services and, in many cases, same-day scheduling. And with an easy-to-reach location, ample parking and no downtown traffic, we make it easier than ever to get the best possible care.
Non-referral Procedures
While we encourage you to consult your primary care doctor before undergoing treatment, some services can be scheduled without a physician referral. These include:
- Varicose Vein Procedures - Called vein ablation, this minimally invasive procedure involves the insertion of a thin catheter into the vein, along with the application of laser or radiofrequency energy to seal the vein. The entire outpatient procedure takes less than an hour, and you can return to normal activity immediately.
- Uterine Fibroid Procedures - Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in the wall of the uterus and can be eliminated through uterine fibroid embolization (UFE). This minimally invasive technique uses a catheter to realize tiny particles that block blood flow to the growth, causing it to shrink and die. Most women are able to return to normal activities in 7 - 10 days.
Because these procedures are performed right inside Saint Joseph Hospital, you'll have the added convenience of an accessible location, easy parking and the round-the-clock availability of our collaborative team. In many cases, same-day scheduling is also available.
